Setting the Scene
For institutions like Christ University, an auditorium is far more than a venue. It is a space where ideas are shared, performances come alive, and communities come together. From academic lectures and conferences to cultural programmes and guest addresses, every event relies on one fundamental requirement: every word and every note must be heard with absolute clarity.
Having experienced the performance, reliability, and consistency of d&b audiotechnik systems across its other Bengaluru campuses, Christ University once again turned to Ansata to modernise the 390-seat Campus View Auditorium at its Koramangala campus. The objective was to create an auditorium capable of supporting the university’s evolving academic and cultural ambitions for years to come.
The Challenge
The existing audio system had reached the end of its operational lifecycle and no longer reflected the standards expected from one of India’s leading educational institutions.
The new system needed to deliver:
- Exceptional speech intelligibility for lectures, seminars, and conferences.
- Natural, balanced musical reproduction for performances and cultural events.
- Consistent coverage across all 390 seats.
- A discreet installation that complemented the auditorium’s architecture.
- Long-term reliability with a workflow that would remain easy to operate and maintain.
Most importantly, the system had to transition effortlessly between speech-driven events and full-scale performances without compromise.
The Solution
Working alongside Waveguide, Ansata delivered a d&b audiotechnik solution centred around precision, consistency, and long-term performance.
The main reinforcement is delivered through Yi10P loudspeakers, selected for their controlled directivity, high output capability, and exceptional vocal intelligibility. Their ability to maintain consistent tonal balance across the audience makes them ideally suited for university auditoriums where every seat should experience the same clarity.
To provide seamless coverage across the listening area, U5 loudspeakers were deployed as complementary fills, ensuring smooth transitions and uniform sound throughout the auditorium.
Low-frequency reinforcement is provided by cardioid CCL-Subwoofers, delivering controlled, musical bass that enhances performances while remaining articulate enough for speech-based programmes. The entire system is powered by d&b 40D and 5D amplifiers, providing advanced DSP processing, efficient amplification, and complete system integration within the d&b workflow.
The result is a professional audio system engineered to support the diverse demands of a modern educational institution while maintaining operational simplicity for the university’s technical team.
