Setting the Scene

Vastral Auditorium in Gujarat serves as an important cultural and performance space, hosting cultural programs, spoken-word events, and music performances. Designed to accommodate a wide audience area, the venue needed an audio system capable of supporting diverse programming while ensuring that every listener receives a consistent and engaging sound experience.

To meet these requirements, d&b audiotechnik systems, supplied and supported by Ansata, were selected to provide a solution focused on intelligibility, tonal balance, and long-term reliability.

The Challenge

The auditorium presented a set of clear but demanding requirements:

Clear, even sound for both speech and music across a wide seating area
Consistent coverage and tonal balance suitable for theatre, cultural programs, and amplified events
Reliable system infrastructure, including audio networking and secure mounting, for stable long-term operation
A solution flexible enough to support visiting productions and varied event formats

The system needed to perform naturally across different content types without frequent reconfiguration.

The Solution

Ansata worked with the project stakeholders to design a d&b audiotechnik system tailored to the auditorium’s acoustic and operational needs.

The main reinforcement is handled by Yi8 and Yi12 loudspeakers, chosen for their precise directivity and ability to deliver intelligible, balanced sound across the full audience area. Their line-array performance ensures uniform SPL and clarity from front to rear seating.

To support nearfield and outer seating zones, 8S loudspeakers are used as fills, maintaining tonal consistency and eliminating coverage gaps. Vi-SUB subwoofers provide tight, musical low-frequency support, adding depth and impact for amplified music and dynamic performances.

Onstage, MAX2 monitors offer reliable and clear monitoring for performers. System power and processing are provided by d&b 30D and 10D amplifiers, while a DS10 network bridge enables efficient audio networking and system integration.

This configuration delivers a stable, scalable solution designed for both performance quality and operational reliability.

The Result

With the new d&b audiotechnik sound system, Vastral Auditorium now offers a consistent and immersive listening experience across all seating areas. Speech remains clear and articulate, music is balanced and expressive, and performances benefit from controlled low-end support and even coverage.
